It thinks and solves
the apex of mathematical
abstractions
while abstracting language
into beautiful poetry.

Creating images inspired
by your imagining,
imagine how it might
become your friend,
replace your friend,
be that person who will
never let you down.

Person you say?
The people I’ve known
the longest, my friends,
family who share my blood,
they struggle to walk now
and repeat the same story
they told me yesterday.

The people I know best
have cried with me,
worrying about our grown
children in the city
and those we’ve
buried with prayer
under that old oak.
